Dr. Alexander Vuving’s latest article is   “South China Sea: Who occupies what in the Spratlys” was recently published by The Diplomat.

The South China Sea’s Spratly Islands is part of a complex dispute about ownership and claims. In the article, Vuving consolidates information from multiple sources to show which countries occupy the Spratlys.

According to Vuving, “there is still no real clarity about who occupies what in the Spratly Islands. It is not uncommon to find articles – and sometimes even publicly available documents, maps and data – that contain inaccurate, conflicting and sometimes unreliable information. This piece attempts to address that issue by looking at who actually occupies what in the Spratlys.”
