Captain Joshua P. Taylor came to the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in December 2022 following his tour as South Asia Division Chief at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Niel K. Kaneshiro

Niel K Kaneshiro joined the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in July 2023 as a civilian faculty member, contributing extensive experience in intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism. His federal government career began in 2003 with the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) in Washington, D.C., where he provided foreign intelligence and terrorist threat assessments to support priority U.S. Navy acquisitions and technology development programs. Climate adaptation and building climate literacy were the focus of a workshop hosted by the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. The workshop titled “Climate Adaptation: Building Partnerships for Resilience in South Asia” was held August 21-24, 2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Eric Dahlmann arrived as a Military Fellow at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in June 2023. Major Dahlmann is a special operations pilot with over 1,700 flight hours, including over 270 combat hours. He has conducted counterterrorism, hostage rescue, direct action, and other special operations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Robert W. Gramling

Lt. Col. Gramling joined the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) in 2023 as a military fellow from the U.S. Air Force’s Air University. Prior to his arrival, Lt. Col. Gramling was commander of the 690TH Cyberspace Operations Squadron at Joint Base Pearl Harbor - Hickam. In this capacity, he led 119 military and civilian personnel in the execution of Department of Defense Information Network Operations and Defensive Cyberspace Operations, supporting 850,000 global users on unclassified and classified Air Force networks. Dr. Jeremiah “Lumpy” Lumbaca, has a new article entitled “Every Taiwan Citizen a Resistance Member: Preparing for a Chinese Occupation” published by the Modern War Institute at West Point.  In the article, Lumbaca creates a scenario where the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has successfully invaded and occupied Taiwan, despite previous predictions that such an invasion would be too costly for China. The Chinese occupation is extensive, with forces present in all aspects of Taiwanese life. The situation is compared to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, highlighting the unpredictability of autocrats' actions. Colonel Ryan Agee joined the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in July 2023. He continues his career in Special Operations and brings a unique background of joint service, combat experience, and irregular warfare campaigning to the center. Colonel Agee began his military service upon receipt of a commission in the United States Navy in 2001 and was assigned to the Aegis Cruiser USS Port Royal in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
